🐟 Norfork National Fish Hatchery

Just about a minute from the resort, directly across the highway, you’ll find the Norfork National Fish Hatchery—one of the most unique and family-friendly stops in the entire area.

Nestled at the base of Norfork Dam, the hatchery plays a major role in what makes the North Fork River such a world-class trout fishery. Established in the 1950s, it raises rainbow, brown, and cutthroat trout that are stocked throughout the region, helping maintain the incredible fishing opportunities our guests come here to enjoy.

Visitors are welcome to walk the grounds at their own pace, where you’ll see dozens of raceways filled with trout of all sizes—from tiny fingerlings to full-grown fish. It’s a hands-on experience where families can learn how trout are raised from egg to release, all while enjoying the peaceful setting along the river.

For families, it doesn’t get much better. Right beside the hatchery is Dry Run Creek, a special catch-and-release area designed specifically for kids and anglers with disabilities—giving everyone a chance to experience just how exciting trout fishing can be.
